Job Summary

The R&D organization is seeking a highly motivated biochemist/molecular biologist at the Research Associate level to support Biochemical Process Development team. The position will work closely with the Automation, Solid Support Consumables and Chemistry teams to advance Molecular Assemblies’ proprietary oligonucleotide synthesis technology. Grade level is dependent on candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of senior staff, executes experiments in support of biochemical process optimization.
  • Prepares reagents and buffers for enzymatic DNA synthesis.
  • Operates liquid handling robots.
  • Processes and analyzes oligos.
  • Maintains an electronic laboratory notebook using good documentation practices.
  • Proactively communicates observations and findings to senior staff.

Experience & Skills:

  • 1-year or more of hands-on laboratory experience is required.
  • Experience in an R&D laboratory is a plus.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good collaborative skills and a team player.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will be based on many factors including but not limited to individual performance, location of job, experience and skills required for this role. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. or B.A. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Candidates with an M.S./M.A. or applicable R&D lab experience are encouraged to apply.
